Children's Policy

At Hotel Killarney, we are delighted to welcome families and children of all ages. The safety, comfort and enjoyment of all our guests is very important to us. We understand that children will be children so to help ensure a pleasant and secure environment for everyone, we kindly ask that parents and guardians observe the following guidelines during your stay:

Supervision

Parents and guardians are responsible for the supervision and behaviour of children in their care at all times while on hotel premises, including guest corridors, public areas, indoor and outdoor hotel facilities.

Public Areas

Our public spaces can become busy at times, therefore children must always be supervised by a responsible adult. For safety reasons, running in corridors and public areas, as well as climbing on staircases or furniture, is not permitted. Children must be supervised in lifts. Scooters, bicycles, remote-controlled toys and ball games are not permitted indoors. At times, if we feel that this is not being respected, we may request further cooperation. The hotel reserves the right to request that behaviour which may pose a safety risk or disturbance to others be addressed immediately.

Restaurants

Families are encouraged to dine together in our restaurants. To ensure an enjoyable experience for all guests, we ask that children remain seated during meal service and are supervised by an adult throughout.

Leisure Facilities / Swimming Pool / Gym

Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult in the swimming pool area at all times. Children under 8 must be accompanied in the water at all times. The gym is available for ages 16 and over. Pool rules displayed within the leisure centre must be followed at all times.

Bar Areas

In accordance with relevant Irish liquor licensing laws, persons under 18 are not permitted in bar areas after the legally permitted times,10pm May – September, 9pm October to April). We kindly ask families to follow these regulations during their visit. Valid identification may be requested where appropriate.

Children’s facilities

Hotel Killarney offers a range of family-friendly facilities, including indoor and outdoor playgrounds, supervised playroom, teen zone, and seasonal kids’ club. Where applicable, children must be supervised unless participating in a supervised signed-in activity run by hotel staff. The playroom is available for children between 3 and 12 years, the soft play is available for children between 3 and 10 years.

Dress Code

We respectfully ask that children wear appropriate clothing and footwear in all public areas of the hotel. Nightwear should not be worn outside guest rooms.

Guest Consideration

We kindly ask all families to be mindful of other guests, particularly in the evenings and early mornings, to ensure a comfortable and relaxing environment for everyone. Hotel management reserves the right to intervene where behaviour may impact the safety, comfort, or enjoyment of other guests.
